Brittany Breidenbach, D.V.M.

"Dr. Brittany"

Dr. Brittany is from a small town outside Frederick, MD. Since the age of four, she knew that she wanted to be a horse veterinarian. Her love of horses first developed on her Granddad's farm where she learned to ride on several quarter horses and her shetland pony, Gizmo. At the age of ten, Brittany decided she wanted to pursue English riding and quickly fell in love with the thrill of jumping. From then until she left for college, she spent as much time as possible at a Jumper/Eventer barn in Urbana, MD riding and teaching children's lessons.

Dr. Brittany attended the University of Findlay for her undergraduate education and received a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Biology with an Associate's degree in Chemistry. She spent multiple summers in Kentucky working at an equine hospital and doing an internship at KESMARC. Dr. Brittany received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia. During vet school, Dr. Brittany was an equine tracking student, thoroughly enjoyed her large animal courses and rotations, and attended several equine externships across the country. She loved every aspect of equine veterinary medicine and aspired to be a successful all-around equine veterinarian.

Following graduation, Dr.Brittany completed an Ambulatory Internship, a one-year position, at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. This fast paced internship furthered her love of equine emergencies, reproductive work, and working with foals. After this internship, Dr. Brittany will always have a special place in her heart for Thoroughbreds and foals of any breed.

Dr. Brittany is interested in all aspects of equine veterinary medicine including emergencies, lameness, reproduction, and neonatal care. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy hiking with their two dogs, visiting the nearby beaches, and exploring their new home in Suffolk, VA and the surrounding areas.
