Jennifer Rieger, D.V.M.

"Dr. Jennifer"

Dr. Jennifer is from Knoxville, Tennessee.  She has had a lifetime of general equine experience through owning and competing with her own horse.  She started riding hunter/jumper at age seven but in high school, she went to Rolex at the Kentucky Horse Park and caught the “three-day eventing” bug so she and her horse, Smoke, changed disciplines until college.

Dr. Jennifer went to Berry College on scholarship to ride for the IHSA hunt seat team. The team placed in the top 10 at the national level two years in a row. She was a captain of the team for three years and kept the team involved with giving back to the community by also being president of the community service group on campus. While at Berry College, she studied advanced physiology and exercise science in addition to completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science.

Dr. Jennifer then continued on to the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine.  She was glad to be back in Big Orange Country and didn’t miss a college football game that first year back.  She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee and elected to do an Internship with Manor Equine Hospital.  She developed strong skills in distal limb ultrasound, sports medicine, anesthesia and surgery.

She has always been passionate about horses and is thrilled to be in a career where she can pursue her interests in general equine wellness, reproduction, sports medicine and surgery.
