Kathleen Theroux, D.V.M.

"Dr. Kate"

Dr. Kate came from Saskatchewan, Canada to join our team.  She was born and raised in a little town called Cap-Rouge, close to Quebec city, in Canada.  Since she was little, she spent most of her summers at her uncle's dairy farm.  At age 10 she began to ride horses, mostly English riding.  At age 13 she had her own Western horse doing Trail, Barrels and Gymkhana.

Later she worked at the prestigious Horse Sport Stable: Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for a year as a groom and decided to pursue an Equine Science Certificate.  After her Certificate she worked for more than three years as a horse trainer, Hunter/Jumper, Dressage Coach and Pony Club instructor.

Enjoying all aspects of horses, she decided to further her career going back to school to obtain her Veterinary Degree.  While pursuing her degree she did externships in Virginia, North Carolina and Louisiana.  Dr. Kate received her degree from the FMV - (Veterinary Medicine Faculty at the University of Montreal, Quebec, Canada).

After receiving her degree, Dr. Kate practiced at an Equine Reproduction Center in Quebec and a small animal practice.  She also worked as a Mixed Animal Veterinarian in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada, where she was sharing her time between horses, dairy and beef cows, small ruminants and companion animals.

In her spare time, Dr. Kate enjoys drawing/painting, watching wild life and, of course, riding!
